Confessions

I have a confession to make.

I'm a blog addict. It's true.

I follow over 50 blogs. The exact number is 58 as of today. I love reading about other people's lives, families, interests, businesses, and hobbies. It's so fascinating to me. It's like reality tv on the internet.

Since Julie started this blog, we've realized in talking to our customers that a lot of them weren't blog readers. So I just want to pass along a great tool in order to help you all follow our blog (and the other 10 zillion out there on the web) and never miss an update.

I use Google Reader. It's sort of like an email inbox, where you can go to get the updates to all of your favorite blogs. It’s free, and if you use gmail, the interface is very familiar. All you have to do is sign up for a Google account if you don't already have one. In order to create an account, click on the link above for Reader. On the sign in page, there is a box in the lower right corner that says "Create an account", click it and sign up for an account. Then you will have access to Reader.

Once you've signed up for Google Reader, all you have to do is add your subsciptions. I personally think this is the easiest way to do it. Go to Google Reader and click on the link on the left that says "Add Subscription". Paste in the URL of the site you want to subscribe to, and Google Reader will try to auto-discover the feed and add it to your reader.

After adding the blog addresses you want to follow, you only have to check Google Reader to read your favorite blogs!! No more going to every single blog to read each post! And don’t worry, if you want to make a comment on a post, you only have to click the post title in Google Reader, and you’ll be taken straight to the site to leave your comment! It’s really easy and time saving if you're a big follower like me! :)

So go subscribe to our blog so you don't miss out on any of our tutiorals, product reviews, or GIVEAWAYS!

Check in tomorrow, I'll be posting another giveaway of our new Creek Bank Creations Chipboard products.

I wish I only followed 58 blogs! I love Google Reader and would totally recommend it.

There is another tool you can download with the reader to put a subscribe button on your toolbar and if you find a new blog you want to follow you click on that. It saves the step of copying and pasting.

Hehe - yea, I'm at 479 blogs I subscribe to (eek - super easy to get behind and overwhelmed!). I use Live Bookmarks on Firefox and it also has a button right on the address bar I can hit when I come across one I'd like to subscribe to. Obviously, with that many, I don't READ every word of them, but I do a lot of reading and especially looking at the pictures!

Love your new blog - It got me motivated to try a chipboard book. I just finished my first one for my oldest grandaughter. Your tips and examples were great and helped me be more creative. Keep it up!

Amanda-
Thanks for the info on the toolbar. I didn't know it existed. I'll have to try it!

I follow a lot of blogs too, but usually the only ones that I remember to actually go read are the ones who have the widget on the sidebar that lets me subscribe by email, and I so wish Julie would do that! Are you reading this, Julie? :) Then I can just get any new blog updates emailed to my inbox and it's wonderful and I don't miss anything! Think about it?
