Sew Happy Together Tag Book

Custom Kit by Creek Bank Creations!

sewhappyfront

Here is a fun kit we've been working on for months. We love the Material Girl line from Cosmo Cricket and wanted to use the paper on this tag book made by Creek Bank Creations. What we ended up doing was adding a sewing kit to the book, and using the pieces from the sewing kit to accent the book. The scissors shown on the front page here, and the tape measure are pieces from an actual sewing kit that is included with this kit!

sewhappy2

This 4 page heavyweight chipboard book kit comes with all the papers, a full sheet of 12x12 Cosmo Cricket Material Girl Chipboard, ribbons, Creek Bank Creations Heavyweight tag book, and the sewing kit.

Marcie used the pink as a background, and cut her title from Cricut on white cardstock. She cut the stripped paper using a sheet of paper she already had that was cut from the scalloped shape.

butterfly close up

I love the close up on this accent piece. Using the green thread is perfect!

flower layout

Here Marcie used the crepe paper in the kit to make her own flowers. Perfectly shown here with sewn button centers!

Is that cute or what?

This fun layout has an edge that is distressed with the edge distressor. The felt flowers are a great addition and we've included Marcie Morgan's pattern for the scroll in every kit! Keely Dines made a few layouts using her boy photos. She wanted to show that "pink" doesn't always have to be for girls.

Look close here...Keely used the white background and put the sticker letters on...then she painted over the letters and pulled the sticker letters off the page! This is a great technique!
Here's another layout on white background. Baby jackson just hanging out!

Keely made some great looking flowers for this layout using paper from the kit!
This kit retails for only $19.99. Stock is limited to first come, first serve.

Bo Bunny Press Roughin It!

I had some time last weekend to work with the new Roughin It line from Bo Bunny Press. This is a camping themed line that is great! I love the happy, bright colors which are great for camping pages. This line includes camo paper, hiking text, and even a page for smores. If you aren't a "camper" per say you might find you like the "outdoors" theme or the tree paper. It's just a great collection. I had fun working with the papers and added some chipboard from Creek Bank Creations. I used some leftovers from the rings sheet, accented them with some red ink and used them to highlight photos on my pages. I used the Don Waun Cartridge from cricut for my letters and the die cut heart on the bottom left.
Papers I used
2 sheets Bo Bunny Press Roughin It Nature pattern paper. (this is the green paper) Cut at 11.x11. and put on at an angle.
2 sheets Bo Bunny Press Roughin It Happy camper paper. (this is the wood grain and wood paper).
2 sheets Bazzill Maraschino Cardstock. Note here: I planned how I wanted to use the paper on this layout and then I cut the middle out of the papers so I could use them on other parts of the page. The large wood grain circle, and word accents are cut from the papers I saved and cut out.
1 Sheet Bo Bunny Press Roughin It Stripe

I used the qoutes on the paper here. Just matted them on cardstock and added a few pop dots!

I love using the chipboard rings to draw attention to certain photos. I used Tim Holtz Red Barn Door ink on these rings using Tim Holtz Ink Blending tool. I wrapped the hear with a few paper whips..tiny strips of paper.

Just a simple chipboard arrow from Creek Bank Creations here covered with pattern paper. The trick to getting letters to pop on scrapbook pages is matting. Notice here I matted the letters, and I put them in letter boxes! I used pop dots on the letter boxes as well!
We still have room in our class for National Scrapbook Day! You can sign up for classes here: Friday or Saturday.
If you aren't local and want to buy the page kit we've provided that as well. (two pages of instructions with color photos). Our kit contains full sheets of paper, and an extra sheet of cardstock for matting photos. Remember to check the list of class supplies to make sure you have what you need to complete the page!

Bo Bunny Flower Child paper in stock!

A fun layout using Bo Bunny Flower Child Line

Paper Used:

Products:

How To:
1. Use the yellow as your background.
2. Cut a 1.5" from the stripped paper for your border at the bottom.3. Cut flowers from the remaining backside of the striped paper. Accent those flowers with Stickles to make them sparkle.
4.Pop the size of scalloped ring you like out of the 12x12 sheet. Paint it red. Let it dry. Cover it with stickles. (put it on then spread it around with your finger). Let it dry.
5. Place the scallop ring onto flower child happy paper (green paper) and trace and cut it out. Adhere to paper.
6. Add photos and title

We've made this up for our booth so it's a one page layout. If I were doing this for my book I would simply pull this out into a two page layout. You could make the large scallop into a giant pocket that you could put a giant tag into and put more photos or journaling on. (in case you haven't noticed I'm really into that lately :)
Close up of the glitter flowers.
You can purchase the title and swirl from us, or purchase the glitter paper from us and cut anything you want!
Our line of chipboard works great with Melody Ross's Chipart Tools. We do recommend a few things I'm NOT hearing from those selling this line.
1. The hammer and pounding surface matter. Use an acrylic head hammer or a steel hammer. My preference is a steel hammer. My guess is they are selling acrylic hammers in the store because they don't cost as much to ship. (I have a background in eyelet setting that is extensive and I will tell you the hammer and pounding surface are important). You need a solid surface. No plastic tables. I did my project on the garage floor. You don't want this bouncing around...so no rubber mallets and no soft surfaces.
2. Water. Melody Ross says to spray the chipboard with water and in her videos I even see her using a foam brush to apply water. Our experience is that you need to apply water, a thin mist. I used the mini mister for this. Too much water causes the chipboard to warp. Then LET IT SIT until it looks almost dry. This gives the chipboard time to let the water soak in, giving it a chance to make a deep impression. You don't want the chipboard to actually dry, just let it soak in!
Then let the pounding begin!

I painted our letters red, then painted yellow on the birds, and wiped most of it off with a wet wipe.
Our Show special at all trade shows includes a special on our 12x12 sheets of chipboard. Buy two at $4.99 and get the third 1/2 price. This includes booth pieces of chipboard you see in this layout.
As for the coupon we are offering at shows. It's simple. Just print off blog post here and we'll honor 20% off any one item of regular price. Please let us know you have a coupon when ordering. We'll honor that at any show this year. Is that a deal or what?

Please feel free to share our blog post with your friends who may be attending a trade show. We're happy to share the love!

This 7 page chipboard and acrylic album (around 6"x6") begins with an album from Bo Bunny Press and the Momma Razzi die cut mini paper pad from Bo Bunny Press.

The album is accented with sayings and quotes, and we've added extras like #8 tags, and ribbon. You'll love the accent we made using Tim Holtz Filmstrip ribbon in this kit!
Our front page is acrylic, and we've custom designed the front page for this kit using vinyl we've custom cut. The front page looks through to see a camera just beckoning you to come inside the album and take a look around. If you've never applied vinyl before, not to worry I've included complete instructions for that too!

This kit is a great kit for heritage photos, family photos or a collection of senior photos! We liked printing the photos in sepia tone, but any color will do.

One of the many things I love about scrapbooking is that when you keep educating yourself and working at your skill the hobby just doesn't get old. I think that is what keeps me interested and creating. This winter I was enjoying watch Tim Holtz Blog has he created the 12 tags of Christmas. I know the tool he used...the ink blending tool...has been around a long time. For me the light bulb kicked on about how this tool can be so useful in my scrapbook pages and projects.

Here is a fun technique I've been playing around with all winter. Gather supplies: a tag, Distress Ink, Mini Mister, Ink blending tool.

The mini mister is actually an empty bottle..simple enough. Fill with water and you've got a simple way to get things wet so you can distress them. Spray the tag, wod it up and flatten it out.

The ink blending tool has a replaceable pad on it. Use a different pad for each color you use. Use the ink blending tool to transfer ink from the pad to your tag. This gives you a smooth even coat of ink. Apply more for a darker look. Use the ink blending tool to touch up the edges. What you have a left is a great distressed tag!

We used the ink blending tool and this technique on the artist print tray accessory kit we offer.
I also used the tool on this layout

This is a layout I adapted from one I saw on the 7 Gypsies blog. It uses the Ink Blending tool in a really cool way. (you know.... keeping me interested and creating!). I cut white cards around 2.5x3. I stamped the images with versa mark with the 7 Gypsies Venice Stamp collection. I put clear Ultra Thick Embossing powder on the images and heat set them.

What you see when you look at the white is actually the white paper showing through the clear embossing powder. The cards are accented with the distress ink, using the ink blending tool just like we talked about earlier.

I wanted to have some hidden journaling so I slipped a tag accented with ink behind the upper edge. It's a great way to get more photos on too!
We used Creek Bank Creations 1.5" letters here, and filmstrip ribbon from Tim Holtz, along with paper from 7 gypies. We do have 7 gypies newest products in stock, and a custom album made by Creek Bank Creations in stock and shipping.
We will be open tomorrow at the shop in Muncie from 10am-5pm. If you aren't local we'll be in St. Louis April 9-10.
