1. I am looking for photos for layouts we are working on. I need good quality photos of grandchildren, and good quality photos of boys playing with trucks. I need a grouping of at least 15 photos. If you have photos you can send me a few jpegs at creekbc@comcast.net. If I can use them I will contact you, and we'll talk payment. If you don't hear back from me I could not use the photos for what we are working on. These photos will be used on layouts that we travel to shows with. We will NOT identify your child.

Mini Envelope Book. A unique design from Creek Bank Creations!

This mini envelope album comes in a package with envelopes, heavyweight chipboard covers and complete instructions. Because the kit comes RAW you can accent the book and turn it into any kind of book you want. I recommend three pieces of pattern paper (matching), 1-6x12 of matching cardstock your color choice, and 1-6x12 of white cardstock to complete the kit.

We added a Tim Holtz Hitch Fastener to the front of our mini books, they are not included in the basic kit and can be found on our website here.

If you would like to purchase the Mini envelope book as a kit I've put one together for you. The Library Pocket Book Kit

The Horizontal Photo Fold Out Instructions

Open the package and you'll find three white pieces. From right to left they are tag, tag pocket, and base.

If you are placing a magnetic snap on your project you need to place that first. (these snaps are not included with the product. You can tie this shut with ribbon or buy the snaps here)

Locate the snaps and place them together. Positive facing one way, negative the other. (stick them together)

Peel the paper sticker (this is marking the piece positive and negative) off the postive side the adhere it to the inside top piece as shown above.

Peel the paper from the top (marked negative) and fold the base piece SHUT. This will make the negative side stick to the bottom base piece.

Carefully pull the flaps of the base unit open, leaving a positive on one side and the negative on the top!
Next locate the pocket tag piece. Punch the circle out.

Decide on your paper for the tag pocket front and cut that paper 9 3/4"x4".

To place to hole properly on the paper use a small piece of adhesive and stick the paper to the front (temporary). Turn the entire piece OVER and use a pencil to trace where to circle is.

Remove the pattern paper and use scissors to cut the circle shape out.

Adhere the paper to the front.

Use a paper distresser all along the inside edge of the circle. This will hide any uneven cutting that you've done.

Now Adhere the back shut so you have a pocket.

If you want to accent the inside back cut a piece 9 3/4"x4" and adhere it into the BACK of the pocket piece. To accent the front of the piece cut a piece of paper 9.5"x4". Slip it into place.

Locate the page protector that is a long sleeve shape. Place this piece into your paper cutter and trim it to 9.75" long.

If you want to put pattern paper on the tag itself I cut my pieces 7.5"x4".

Slide the tag piece into the pocket, and slide the entire piece into the sleeve. Add photos to this piece as desired.

To accent the base top flaps cut two pieces of paper 9 5/8" long x 4 3/16" wide. (refer to the diagram for placement). Adhere the tag pocket (in the protectirve sleeve on the inside of the base. Adhere.

To accent the base bottom flaps cut two pieces of paper 9 5/8" long x 4.5" wide. Adhere. Add photos as desired.

Locate your top flap and accent it as desired. Locate the page sleeves and slide them onto the top and bottom flaps of the base. The self seal strips will be attached to the BACK of the base.

Attach the piece to the layout. The horizontal photo fold out attached to the layout closed.

So how does that fit into a page protector?

Make your page.

1. Slide your page into the page protector.

2. Use a dull pencil, or an embossing stylist, and trace around the outside edge of the shape.

3. Take the page out of the page protector.

4. Slide a scrap paper or cutting mat into the page protector, and cut on the line you've created.

5. Slide your page back into the page protector and it fits perfectly.

How to make the library pocket book

How to make the library pocket book.

Supplies Needed:

1. Creek Bank Creations Library Pocket Book Kit

2. Adhesive Scotch Quick Dry (liquid)

3. Creek Bank Creations Sanding Stick

4. Wet Wipes

5. Your choice paper, ribbon, embellishments

6. Brayer

7. Ink (ink blending tool optional to apply ink
8. Corner Rounder (optional for library cards)

Open the library pocket book kit and located the pre-scored white insert. Fold the pieces on the folds. Choose a color of ink that matches your project. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink, and applied the ink with the ink blending tool.

Cover the entire front with ink.

Cover the ends of the back.

Locate the library pockets in your kit. Fold back the paper lining (do not remove the lining, just fold it back and get it out of the way so that you can ink the edges of the library pocket cards).

Use a scrap piece of paper and tuck it into the pocket so that you can ink the top edge of ALL of the pockets.

Locate the folded insert you inked, and the library pocket envelopes. Adhere the first card to the SECOND section (from the left) of your folded insert. You are only adhering the envelope pocket to a 1/2" section of fold #2. Center the envelope pocket top to bottom , and close as possible to the inside seam without putting it down into the seam. Photo Below

Locate another envelope pocket and adhere it to the back of the first pocket envelope. (set it directly on top of the first evenlope) Photo below.

Locate another envelope pocket and adhere it in the same fashion to the third fold from the left on the insert piece. Photo below

Continue adding envelope pockets all the way down the folded insert until you have 6 complete pages. I've included two extra pockets in the event you make mistakes and need them. The next two photos below show the finished result.

Locate the two chipboard covers in your Library Pocket Kit. (see below) Cover the pieces with desired paper cut 3.5"x6.5". Cover the chipboard with a thin layer of adhesive and apply the paper. Use the brayer to flatten the glue and make sure you don't have air pockets. (if you don't have a brayer find something else like a round glue bottle to do the trick). Use wet wipes to clean up excess adhesive.

Let the adhesive dry and use the Creek Bank Creations Sanding Stick to sand edges clean.

Work on the edges of the table, and pull the stick straight down.

Choose one chipboard cover to be your front and accent as you desire.

We need to cut accent papers to place on each library pocket envelope page. Cut 12 pieces of pattern paper 3 1/4"x2 1/4". Ink edges if desired. Apply to pockets as shown below.

Look at the photo above and you will see a flap on each side of the pocket section. One on the right, and one on the left. These flaps are what we will use to attach the envelope pocket section to the chipboard covers.

We need to attach the chipboard covers to the envelope section. The photo above shows what this will look like looking from the top down. The photo below shows what the project looks like if you set the stack of envelopes on the table in front of you. (lay it flat). You will want to place glue on the white flap section, and place the chipboard piece onto top of it. Please note that I've moved the chipboard over to the right about an 1/8" so that a small amount of white shows. This is important so that your cover is LONGER than your pages. Adhere the chipboard cover to the pocket section by putting Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive to the outside flap, and putting the chipboard cover on the flap. Center the chipboard cover and the pocket section from top to bottom. Make sure your pattern paper is facing OUT, and watch that you don't have glue on the inside that sticks to the pages.

Once the front page is set, adhere the back chipboard cover in the same manner.

Cut 2 pieces of pattern paper to cover the inside page of the book. Cut to 3.5"x6.5". Adhere the paper to the chipboard. Clean edges with sanding stick if necessary, and ink edges with red ink.

Cut a piece of pattern paper for the spine. It will measure 3"x6.5. If you are using pattern paper it is a good idea to cut TWO and adhere them together for extra strength.

Use a folding or scoring tool and score the piece 1/2" from each edge. Choose one edge and put adhesive on the piece as shown above. Flip the piece over and adhere the 1/2" with the adhesive on it to the spine side of the book.

Adhere the spine piece (dotted piece above) to the front, and wrap the spine piece to the back along the fold line.

Wrap the paper to the back and adhere it to hte back just like you did the front. The photo above shows the piece with adhesive on it that needs adhered to the chipboard back.

Locate the library cards and use a corner rounder on edges. Accent the egdes wtih ink, and accent the tops of the cards with twine or ribbon as shown.

Accent the front inside page as desired.

Snowfall Ticket Holder

Do you remember the ticket holder from 7 Gypsies earlier this year?

Here is what I did with the ticket holder this Summer!

Now I've teamed up the ticket holder with some heavyweight chipboard from Creek Bank Creations and the new Snowfall paper from Bo Bunny Press.

I used the same chipboard pieces that I used on the other piece, just flipped them over. When you order the ticket holder from us, add FREEBIES in the comments section and we will ship you at no charge the 5x7 chipboard, and the chipboard heart!

We covered these pieces with paper and sanded the edges clean with our sanding stick!

We also added some great paper flowers from Prima that match perfectly with this paper! (and they are in our clearance section)

I added the snowflake ribbon from May Arts. This is great trim for scrapbooking or card crafting!

What Happiness Looks Like

We've had a great deal of joy in our family this year. My son met a girl. ;) We have enjoyed watching this relationship! He is serious. She is giggly. He is a square. She is a circle. He walks. She skips. As I've watched this relationship I've thought of one word HAPPINESS. This is what happiness looks like.

I wanted to make a mini album that would allow ANYONE to build a book that could be filled with random pictures over a set period of time. These mini albums are great for collections of photos, and they make perfect gifts at Christmas Time. It seemed perfect to put together a mini album that would be called "What happiness looks like" this year. It's a fun, happy album that can be filled with photos of any style for you to enjoy.

This album contains papers and embellishments from Jillibean Soup called Sweet and Sour Soup. I've included in this kit for you the pre-cut flowers on the front page, and DETAILED instructions on how to make these beautiful creatures. These flowers and tons of others just like them can be cut on the Flower Shoppe Cartridge from Cricut. The simple use of the Petal Roller tool makes it fast and easy, and I've written it all down for you in this kit.

There are many twists and turns in this album. I teach you how to build up our heavy weight chipboard tabbed pages and tags with chipboard strips. Then hidden behind these pieces are a clear page that actually comes out the top of the album.

There are fun accents like this one which accent the great designs from Jillibean Soup.

This project starts with a Maya Road 6x6 Album, then adds The Jillibean Soup 6x6 paper pad, 12 sheets of Jillibean Soup Paper, The Jillibean Soup Pea Pod Parts, The Jillibean Soup 12x12 sticker sheet, 4 sheets of cardstock and TONS of embellishments! When complete you will have 12 pages to add your favorite photos to!

Basketball Layout with 12 Photos

Basketball layout with 12 photos!

If you are anything like me when it comes to taking sports photos you know that often times the snapshots turn out to be "full of court or field" and not very full of the person I wanted to capture! The Wallet size photo fold out is a answer to solving the problem of what to do with these photos. (besides learning to take better photos which has seemed to evade me!).

The layout above shows the photo fold out in the lower right hand corner. This is a four sided unit I designed that comes WITH protective sleeves. You start with the white piece, accent the folded pages with photos or journaling, then slide the sleeves on. Then the photo fold out can be adhered to any scrapbook page.

This layout shows our wallet size (small) photo fold out but it also comes in 4x6

This layout shows the horizontal photo fold out. The horizontal piece is 11" and opens up and down. This reveals a special pocket and tag that is removed to the right, which holds more photos.

New Style Photo Fold Out!

We've been on a mission around here to bring you real products you can use, that actually fit a need you have in your scrapbooking...getting more photos on your pages. It is one of our favorite things to dream designs and make them happen!

Our newest addition to our photo fold out line is a horizontal fold out.

The horizontal photo fold out includes several pieces. There is a large pre scored piece that fits on your horizontally, a pocket to hold a large tag, a large tag, and file folder tab in each package. The two images above show the fold out being opened..one from the side view one from the top. Once opened, what is revealed is the inside pocket and tag, which hold MORE photos and journaling. Each of the pieces that fold open have protective sleeves to cover them, and the giant tag pocket also has it's own protective sleeve!

The tag slides out of the pocket, to reveal more photos, journaling and fun! Photos can be placed behind the tag if you want, or on the back of the tag. If you count the photos on this layout you'll find 17 photos!

As an added note I had fun with this layout using the bakers twine. I covered buttons with score tape, and then covered them with bakers twine. I also made my own really great looking border by covering the scor tape with bakers twine (and you DO NOT want to know how long that took!).

I built magnetic snaps into my photo fold out to hold the layout shut.

This is done by adhering them to the fold as show below BEFORE you accent the fold out piece.

One magnet on the top piece, and one magnet on the bottom. Then add your photos and papers as desired.

If you would rather use ribbon, then you can adhere a piece of ribbon to the back, and wrap it around the front.

So how does that fit into a page protector?

Make your page.

1. Slide your page into the page protector.

2. Use a dull pencil, or an embossing stylist, and trace around the outside edge of the shape.

3. Take the page out of the page protector.

4. Slide a scrap paper or cutting mat into the page protector, and cut on the line you've created.

5. Slide your page back into the page protector and it fits perfectly.

On a personal note let me update you on a few things! I will be traveling all week and have a very, very full plate! Orders placed between now and Tuesday will not be shipping until Wednesday. SMASH orders are getting more difficult to fill as we are running out of some products! I have updated the website to reveal ship dates, as I'm pretty sure that The Great American Scrapbook Show this weekend will wipe out our entire SMASH inventory. I have previously already ordered more product, and they tell me that order is on the way...we shall see!

Have you seen the Mudd Puddles product that goes so well with this type of page? We offer it in several colors!

Mudd Puddles is a sand like product with the adhesive binder built into it. You simply open the container, stir it up and apply it to your project with an applicator knife. (we do recommend the knife as it gives you a smooth finish). The product is wet, so on chipboard use it sparingly like I did here.

When applying this product to larger pieces of chipboard I recommend that you cover the surface using the sand applicator knife. While it is still wet, wipe the edges clean with the knife. Allow the project to air dry around 2 hours. It will start to bow on you at this point. Cover the pieces with wax paper then place some books on the projects. This will flatten out your project and it will dry flat. Allow to dry several hours or overnight. Remember to keep the knife clean after each application or the adhesive will dry on your knife making it impossible to apply the sand in a smooth fashion.

I have designed several chipboard books for your summer memories as well. These are all custom designed by me, and are cut from Creek Bank Creations heavyweight chipboard.

The Sun book has dimensional layers, along with flip flops and a popsicle you can accent. I covered the sun with the yellow mud and the popsicle with the mango color.

Mud puddles is the perfect accent for Creek Bank Creations chipboard words like beach, vacation, cruise or splash!

New Chipboard Book from Creek Bank Creations! Cut from our heavy weight chipboard and sure to please! This chipboard book measures 8.5"x5.75 and contains 5 pages. Along with the pages you also receive the bowl, the spoon, the chef hat, and rubber spatula shapes. This allows you to accent these pieces as desired and adhere them to the book. This book does not include rings.

This book is accented with Jillibean Soup Dutch Mustard Papers, and Stickers!

The tiny flowers shown in this photo are fun easy to make. They measure just around .75" wide. I took a button from the sticker sheet that I was not going to use, and used it sticky side up for my base. I then took a piece of bakers twine about 15" long and put a knot in the end of it. I stuck that knot (trimming off the end) and stuck it into the sticker. I then just wound the bakers twine around in a circle shape, and tucking it into the back. This is a great way to use stickers you are not using!

I recommend that you adhere paper to chipboard using Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.
For clean edges use Creek Bank Creations Lil Sis Sanding Stick on edges.
You will need a Crop a Dile Hole Punching Tool, or some kind of binding system for this book. I used snap rings for my book. (snap rings here)

Our large photo fold out is another Creek Bank Creations exclusive product. We know you want to get more photos on a page. We know that when you say you want more photos on your pages, you aren't talking about photos that measure 2"x2"! You want to put all your photos on your pages, and we've been listening! Our large photo fold out lets you place 4x6 photos on the fold out, holding up to around 12 photos...and journaling!

We've made this layout with Fancy Pants Beach Bum paper! It's a great place to put all your beach photos, or simply amend the title and turn it into any kind of summer layout!

The Fancy Pants paper comes with the printed banner on it. I simply cut it out, wrapped it with bakers twine and adhered it to the layout!

The flip flop clothes line is also printed on the Fancy Pants paper. In this case I found a scrap piece of paper and put a line of Beacon's Adhesive on the scrap. I laid the bakers twine in the glue, then picked it up and moved it over to my paper cut out piece. This transfers the bakers twine to the piece, with a small amount of adhesive on the twine, which doesn't show.

I built magnetic snaps into my photo fold out. This is what holds the Photo Fold Out Shut.

It's been a fun week in the shop. We're gearing up for this weekend, our two day crop, and last day our retail shop will be open. Many new products arrived, and we've got them stocked and ready to go....(working on getting it on the web over the next few days).

Tim Hotlz Distress Stains. Lots of video on Tim Holtz blog with ways to use the stains. Great product with many uses.

I fell in love with hand dyed wool over a year ago. I've been collecting it in my private stash. I love the deep rich colors and heavy texture. It adds so much to scrapbook pages, and cards. I found a sheep farm in Texas where a family hand dyes this product, and the rest is history. Cut into ribbon like pieces, and bulk like you see above..this is a great product that I know you'll love. I have been sewing on it, and die cutting it. (LOVE THIS). This product is in the shop, and will be carried to shows this Summer.

My Favorite Things Configurations Box Kit

I know you often see new products and think..."that's cute, but what do I do with it?". The Tim Holtz Configuration box is one of those products. It's a great paper mache box that makes a fun decor object. The configuration box is often seen decorated in a heavy altered media style, and while I like that, I wanted to show a different way to make the box.

I designed this kit for you to customize. We’ve included the box, the feet (hitch fasteners), the Knob on top (style varies according to kit), two glass bottles and detailed instructions. We have opened packages and divided products out in this kit, which means it saves you money because you aren't buying a full package of curio knobs, and hitch fasteners. You only purchase what you need, and I provide the tips and instructions you need to pull this kit together. I've included detailed instructions on how to hang a favorite photo inside the box, which is a great little accent in this box. It is an easy project to make following our sizings, and clever tips!

It's been talked about since January. It's coming soon! A brand new kind of product from K and Co. It's a journal book that comes with a pen...that also is a glue stick.

These books are meant to be scrapbooked in, doodled in, and quite honestly "junked up". We have this product on order and we're taking pre orders NOW. We are expecting to begin shipping orders May 23rd.

National Scrapbook Day

National Scrapbook Day is fast approaching? Are you busy? How about celebrating with us on April 29th & April 30th to celebrate? We're hosting our two day crop and would love to have you join us. We're providing a free gift, and we'll be sitting down together and making a two page layout. This layout will be designed to include Creek Bank Creations new photo fold out! (can I hear a big yipeeeee??) It promises to be a fun weekend where you will complete lots of pages or projects. Sign up the event and purchase food here! You know I'll just say this...CHANGE IS HARD. I've known since last year change was coming to my life. ARGGGHHH the dreaded change. So I will have to say this news is very, very hard for me to announce. The girls working for us know I've been all over the place on this issue.....and for that I'm sorry. (to the girls) So the big news is this...our April 29 & 30 event will be the last time the retail store front is open, and I really do not think I will be hosting any crops in the future. This will limit our sales to online sales, and retail shows. I know this disappoints many of our local customers....whom I really do care about. I have just come to the place where I am absolutely exhausted from all the hours I work, and something has to go! I'm hoping that by cutting back I can more clearly focus on what Creek Bank Creations does best...design...innovate...create. This means April 29 & April 30 will be the last two days we are open to the public in Muncie. (we are also open April 22 & 23 10am-5pm). If you need things please let us know we'll get them in for you for that weekend. This also means I am cancelling the garage sale scheduled for this Summer, and refunding anyone who has paid/or registered for that event. (you just will never know how hard this is to do!). I will hold the monies paid on the garage sale until after the crop, then if you have not spent the credit I will gladly refund the garage sale fee. One does want to play with new things when they come out...don't you? Today I finally had the chance to sit down and play with Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine Papers.

Here's what Tim Holtz himself had to say about it..."- kraft glassine - okay, i'm just saying this is one of those products that you have to see and feel to really get how cool it is. remember when i introduced you to grungeboard? indescribable yet addicting! well here we are again with another totally new surface to create with. it's coated kraft paper that is semi-translucent that can be crumpled for an amazing suede look, printed on for a vintage background unlike anything you've seen before. i'm releasing pads of sheets to die cut, stamp on, whatever your creative heart desires as well as envelopes sized to mail your embellished ATC's and #8 tags. just you wait...i'm telling you now..."

I couldn't help but ask my son if I could make a layout that touched on his life. He gave in and let me use a photo of himself. (he long ago asked me to stop posting his photos everywhere!) There are lots of happy times around here, and this layout shows that. This young lady is full of joy, and she shares it with everyone she knows.

Oh yeh...the layout! The black background is Creative Imaginations corrugated paper. This 12x12 paper is fun to play around with. You can cut it in cricut, and you may notice that I've printed the photo on the back of it, and cut the paper rosette with it. The page is accented with 7 gypsies lille tickets, Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon, a paper rosette and a flower.

I embossed the Kraft Glassine paper using a standard embossing die and my Cuttlebug machine. (I used the folder that came with the machine). I then die cut the kraft glassine paper with the Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Floral Die. I also used the die to cut a red flower, and a flower cut from 7 Gyspies beautiful paper. I folded the edges in, and inked them with Tim Hotlz Distress ink brushed corduroy ink, and stacked them all up. You can hold it all together with a brad from My Minds Eye Stella and Rose Love Decorative Brads.

I wanted to see how the Kraft Glassine would work when applying it to chipboard. The result was stunning. It has a look of leather! I embossed the piece, and adhered it to the chipboard heart with Scotch Quick Dry Ahdesive.

It's fun product that produces a great look! I hope you'll try it soon!

Ringer Binder Project

Using Tim Holtz Ring Binders...

You may of noticed a new fun product by Tim Holtz called Ring Binders. These small binders are great for making your own craft and photo projects. They can be added to projects by simply punching a hole and using the brads that come in the package to attach them.

I'm always looking for things to alter and play around with, and these fit that bill for sure!

Here's what I made with Tim Holtz Ring Binders!

I attached the ring binder to Creek Bank Creations 6x6 bracket chipboard and made a wall hanging of favorite photos from my son.

I covered the scallop chipboard piece with Stella and Rose Hattie Remember Rose Paper.

I used My Minds Eye Stella and Rose Hattie Happy polka Dots paper for the pages. I cut the pages to 5"x3.5".

I used buttons to make tabs on the bottom of the pages. I adhered them to the pages using Glossy Accents. Set them on the edge of the paper, and set them aside to dry.

The ATC Card Kit affirmations from 7 Gypsies had perfect quotes for me to use for this. This made the project fast and easy. I just cut them out and added them to the pages.

I matted photos on My Minds Eye Stella and Rose Hattie Boy Woven Stripes paper.

Before I put the ring binder on I adhered some old keys with Glossy Accents and let it dry. Then attach the binder with the brads provided. Notice that I ran a piece of ribbon through the binder holes first, this just softens the ring binder a bit. Tim Holtz Ruler Ribbon was a great product to use for hanging, and I just adhered it with the Tiny Attacher.

New Creek Bank Creations Exclusive Product...Photo Fold out with protective sleeves!

I've been on a mission all winter to develop products that allow scrapbookers to get more photos on a page. You might remember our exclusive design of page extensions we released earlier this year. Page Extensions have been a huge success with our customers, and I'm sure you will love the photo fold out I've created!

This is just a simple, fast and easy way to get more photos on your pages!

1. Design your layout, decide where you will put the fold out.

2. Accent the fold out with paper, inks, etc.

3. Add your photos or journaling.

4. Slip the protective sleeves on the fold out. One for each side, and adhere them to the back with the self seal strip.

5. Adhere to page.

Each Photo Fold out starts out small, and folds out to hold as many as 9 3x4 photos.

If you would rather use ribbon, then you can adhere a piece of ribbon to the back, and wrap it around the front.

So how does that fit into a page protector?

Make your page.

Slide your page into the page protector.

Use a dull pencil, or an embossing stylist, and trace around the outside edge of the shape.

Take the page out of the page protector.

Slide a scrap paper or cutting mat into the page protector, and cut on the line you've created.

Slide your page back into the page protector and wallllll llllaaaaaaaa it fits perfectly.

I covered the cake pieces with paper, and the other pieces (stars, icing, etc) with stickles. (I painted a white base coat on the chipboard pieces first, and then heavily covered the pieces with stickles)

New Dimensional Book Three Trees

Dimensional Book Three Trees
This chipboard book is cut from heavyweight chipboard from Creek Bank Creations. It measures 8.25" long by 6.75" tall. It comes with four pages. Page one is 8.25x5.75", page 2 is 5.25" wide by 5.75", and has a scalloped edge. Page three is 6.5" wide by 5.75" tall, page four is 8.5" long by 5.75" tall.

The dimensional pieces on the book are the tree parts. The book comes with the front cut out piece as one unit, and then you'll find the following parts also cut separately: the tree trunks, the tree tops, and the bird.

To finish the book as we've done. Paint the front page blue. Allow to dry. Cover the separate tree pieces with pattern paper as shown. Cover largest tree trunk piece with brown stickles, cover bird with green stickles. Adhere the trees on the left and right with Scotch quick dry adhesive. Adhere the middle tree by locating the extra piece of chipboard in your package (marked by an X). Use your scissors to cut pieces of "chipboard pop dots" that will lift your tree and give it dimension. I cut one long narrow piece the same size as the large tree trunk, and several smaller squares for the tree circle. Adhere the "chipboard pop dots" using Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

Here comes another one of our new chipboard books! The clock face! This book comes with chipboard pieces and pages. You must assemble. Layer clock elements to give your clock front a dimensional look. The letters on the front do not come with the book. They are listed in the supply list below.

The flower is made with tissue tape, and the wonder tape sheet I explained last week (scroll down). To make this one though you start from the outside edge and work into the middle, folding and pleating as you go.

New Chipboard styles to play with! Once again cut from our heayweight chipboard. This allows you to design and play with it to your hearts content. Two new styles Mini Banner, and Mini triangle. Great for making accents on your pages.

Here's a close up of the banner I made. I covered the mini triangles with paper, then accented them with stickles. I added the chipboard letters that I painted, and accented with stickles too. I adhered the bakers twine across the top with Beacon's Fabric tac. Great stuff when you need a tacky strong hold that dries clear.

New Sand Castle Album

New Dimensional Sand Castle Book

How many of our competitors albums could you cover with this amount of Mudd Puddles product....have it NOT warp...and still stand up beautifully?This sand castle book comes with parts, and 4 pages. The first thing you want to do is cover the castle parts, and water with Mudd Puddles. I used Malibu, ocean, and Tahiti. A THIN COAT of Mudd Puddles, then use the knife to clean off your edges. Allow to air dry 2 hours, then cover with wax paper and put a book on them overnight to dry.

Decide what you are going to do with the background of page 1. I covered mine with paper, and I covered the back as well. You could also accent them with ink, or paint them. While you are waiting for Mudd Puddles to dry, cover the front and back of page 1 as desired.

Once you have the front covered, and the parts are dry start putting it all together.
Glue the top part on first, adhering it with Scotch Quick Dry directly to the chipboard. Work down, and get ready to put on the next two smaller pieces.

Each kit comes with one extra piece of chipboard. It will be a smaller scrap piece. You'll want to take this piece, and cut small squares to adhere to the back edges of your next two pieces. I placed these small chipboard pop dots on the edges, giving the book strength. Adhere these pieces onto the sand castle parts using Scotch Quick Dry adhesive. Adhere the castle parts to the book using Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

The final step is to adhere the larger bottom piece. You will want to cut more chipboard pop dots, and adhere them to the castle just like the other pieces. I cut pieces to support the outside edge, and the lower bottom edge. It will help if you cut the pieces the same size as the castle parts you are trying to support. Adhere castle to page.

Now there may be places on the edges that your chipboard pop dots show. Just go back and cover those areas with Mudd Puddles and allow them to dry overnight.

Each of the new books has a scalloped page, and two other waterfall pages. All cut from heavyweight chipboard. I used My Minds Eye Sunshine Boy to accent this book. I love this paper!

This is a fun 5.75x5.5.75 round book, simple for vacation or cruise photos. I've accented the book front with Mudd Puddles.

I've used:

Sunrise Beach (new yellow color I asked to be developed...loaded with glitter)

Ocean (blue water color)

Mudd Puddles can be applied with the applicator knife, and spread THIN. Allow to air dry 2 hours, then cover with wax paper and put books on top of it. This will keep your project from warping. If you are using Mudd Puddles on paper use it sparingly...it is a wet product and will warp your stuff!

Life is Good Kit

I love the expression "life is good" so when this paper came out from 7 Gypsies I wanted to make something with it. I like this expression because it helps me focus on the many rich blessings in my life. This kit starts with Creek Bank Creations Scalloped chipboard piece which measures around 11.75x11.75. Now our chipboard sheets are simply BETTER than any other chipboard I've seen on the market today...and often ours is a better price. Our chipboard is board weight heavy stuff, so it doesn't flop over after you work with it. I've included an optical lens from 7 Gypsies, a full package of tags and lots of fun in this kit. I think it's fun to learn new techniques when you do a kit, and this kit has that! (keep reading) You can purchase the kit here.

The kit contains all the papers, chipboard, embellishments and instructions for you to put the kit together at home. You will also need the following supplies:

black embroidery floss, rock candy stickles, Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy (or brown ink), Ink Blending tool if using Distress Ink, Creek Bank Creations Sanding stick, Adhesive (Scotch quick dry to adhere paper to chipboard, and Glossy Accents to attach lens to page), Brayer (optional), Sew Easy Stitch Piercing tool and blanket head for stitching. (please note we are out of stock of sew easy tools until mid march!)

You may of noticed this kit contains a flower. I've included the products you need to make the flower in the kit, and step by step instructions. It's worth me posting here how to make these flowers. Some say you need a special adhesive product to make these flowers. REALLY want you need is a great high tac adhesive, and a sheet of Wonder Tape from Ranger will do this for you. Wonder tape comes in a 8x10 sheet, and can be cut with scissors, or die cut into any shape you want. In this case we're cutting it into a circle......

Let’s make the flower!
A. Locate the red twill, and the wonder tape. Cut the tape into a 2” circle. It doesn’t have to be perfect.B. Take the red liner off the top. Leave the paper on the back. Take the end of the twill and fold it over.C. Push the folded over piece into the middle.D. If it is standing up too tall, just push it straight down.

E. Grab the twill and begin twist it, and pushing it down into the adhesive. Just keep twisting the twill, sticking it down, and turning the adhesive circle around.F. You can scrunch it up, push it down, then twist and stick it down. Just keep twisting, scrunching and sticking, and turning.
When you've filled the entire circle, take scissors and trim off any extra white showing'

H. Cut the twill so that you have about 1/4” left, and push it into the adhesive on the back.

When you get ready to put the flower on your page, just peel and stick it down. This looks great with twill, but can be used with any kind of trim. (wider stuff needs cut down)

Now that's really fun, really cool, and really easy!

New Technique Fun Album

Looking for different album that will challenge you and offer you a creative twist?

We've found it with the Pink Paisley Parisian Anthology Albums!

I've wanted a larger style canvas album to play around with for a long time. This canvas covered album gives you the free to alter the front to your hearts content. This means painting it, stamping on it, inking on it, or use it as we did with a photo transfer.

Keely made this album for us, and used the theme "through the years" and included words to the famous song on the pages. She used photos she found of her Dad as a child, and growing up which are absolutely priceless.

This album comes with 20 divided page protectors in assorted sizes. Keely reproduced her family photos at the local photo place, and sized them to fit into the divided page protectors.

What's great about the album are the papers and accents that come with the line. The paper line is RESIST. What is resist? The paper has a glossy white surface printed ONTO the paper that can barely be seen with the naked eye, but when ink or paint is put to the papers the background resist pattern shows through. Keely accented all the pages in her book using Tim Holtz Distress Ink and the ink blending tool.

The page protectors have great little flaps on them, you can play around with the them. Hide journaling there, or add special photos. The tickets shown in the photo above can be purchased as well. They come white, and you accent them with ink. (Distress Ink and Ink Blending Tool)

It's a great fun way to build a special album for a special memory or loved one!

Let's talk about the photo transfer. I've been wondering about this for a long time. I finally discovered a cool product by Claudine Hellmuth called Multi Medium Gloss. You can use it for photo transfer.

Photo transfer can be done with a transparency or a laser copy. Keely and I both played around with this technique and I think the laser copy is the best option. You can take your images or photos to any copy store and ask them to copy laser for you. Remember if you are printing text you will need to have your text printed backwards. Here's a video by Claudine Hellmuth showing the technique. Don't be concerned that she is using paint, she says at the end the same instructions apply to Multi Medium Gloss which is what we are using.

It's a fun technique to try!

Creek Bank Creations Exclusive Product....Page Extensions

Talk to any person who scrapbooks and you'll hear the same issue. How can I get more photos on a page? This is something I've been playing around with for about two years. (Did I mention my love for playing around with paper and nonsense things...). Anyway I have developed a new style of page additions that will greatly help anyone who is trying to get more photos on a page. The Creek Bank Creations page extensions will give you room to put plenty of nice size photos on a layout (not just 3x3's), plus a great place for hidden journaling on your pages. I LOVE THIS!

The page above called Skeet Shoot is my son's graduation party. We wanted to something he would like...he insisted he was NOT having a party. Tom and I thought on this for a long time, and then decided WE were having a party! We told Brye what we were doing and invited him to his party! It was a great time with family and friends and Brye had a great time! Brye's friends said it was the coolest graduation party they went to! Ohhhh I've digressed....We had tons of photos...so I made this page with a page extension. Look below and you'll see the close up of the rectangle page extension. Page extensions are added to the page with scor tape, in this case at the top of the page.

Look below and you'll see the page extension open! Now I've got a place for more photos, and journaling too! One of things I've found about page extensions is that I can HIDE colors in photos that don't match my page layout! Notice below the photo of the gun laying on top of the pink towel. This was funny because the towel had a gun on it, and it is just a great photo. The problem is that pink towel totally destroys the color scheme I have going. Using Creek Bank Creations Page Extensions allowed me to hide that photo, but still include it.

How about some graduation photos? This graduation layout has 10 photos..all good sized, and some not even cropped! I've got all those photos on this layout, PLUS a big title banner, a quote and some decorative accents!

This layout has the page extension added into the side of the album, and again attached with scor tape. Scor tape is a high tack tape on a roll that is similar to pink tacky tape. The great thing about scor tape is that you can tear it with your fingers, and it is clear. When you purchase a package of Page Extensions from Creek Bank Creations I've included a full page of instructions and tips for using them. I do, for example, recommend that you score the inside edge of the rectangle piece when adding it to your photo album. I've included detailed instructions on just how to do that when you purchase page extensions.

Not working in a 12x12 album? That is ok...you can cut the page extensions down in your paper cutter to fit your pages, then slip paper into them.

Page extensions are CLEAR...you add the paper you want so that it matches every page you build.

The rectangles are great, but the triangles are fun! The triangle can be added from the top as I've done here, or from the side. I can't wait to do a sports page and insert this on the side of the page as a banner! (yippee ya ya)

Flip up that page extension and you've got room for more photos, and journaling.
I've also put together a package of what I call journaling spots. Journaling spots are white cardstock papers that have lines on them. These pieces are made to fit the page extensions exactly. (If you look closely you can see the bottom half of a journaling spots on the page above. The printed lines and journaling boxes in the Journaling Spots kit also have pieces that fit into the divided page protectors from We R Memory Keepers.

Page extensions work with post bound albums, top loading or side loading albums, strap hinge albums, and d ring albums. Basically if your album has page protectors, our page extensions will work for you! You can even punch our page extensions with Bind It All, Cinch, or other binding programs.

I hope you'll give the page extensions a try...and I'd love to see what you design with them!

Please bear with me as I use our business blog to post the details about my home being for sale. We have a large customer base spread out all over and so I think the blog is a good place to let people know about this property. Tom has been traveling to Indiana to go to work for years, and he is tired of the drive, and time change. Our son has graduated from High School, and it is time to sell the place we built...and quite honestly LOVE!

So here are the details:

House and 20.39 acres. A nice mixture of woods, and tillable acreage.

Located in rural Fairmount, Illinois. (61841). 30 minutes from Champaign-Urbana to the west, and 20 minutes from Danville to the east. Catlin School District.

This is a 3 bedroom totally brick ranch style home. (2200 sq feet) We built this home in 1996. Looks to be 2 story but is all on one level. (I hate stairs). We have LV, DR, Kitchen, large laundry room with extra storage, lots of storage in closets, office with glass pocket doors, 24x24 attached garage. I designed this home with an open floor plan because I hate being closed off from my family. We have updated this home, and it includes appliances, which are stainless. We have new faucets, new style shower curtain rods, and two bedrooms have brand new smart strand carpet.

The front yard in the winter. The golf course is on the other side of this fence. Concrete pad here for playing basketball.

This driveway has a deep strong base, and a solid top. NO dust blowing all over the place. The yard has plenty of shade, (Tom still plants trees every year). I have insisted some parts of the yard be full sun, so if you have kids like to play ball...there is room for that too!

The patio we put in three years ago. Very Large and INCLUDES a hot tub.

Back Yard

Back Yard north side. This photo shows the end the driveway...the actual road 1425 North ENDS at our house. This means you have no visible neighbors (outside of golfers). All three sides of the property open into wooded acreage that has no homes on it. (north and west sides are not able to be built on)

We've got plenty of room for an herb bed, and Tom has a HUGE garden, plus there is plenty of room for outdoor activity.

Comes with this wonderful tree stand, which is actually a giant tree house. Many deer have been killed from this tree stand.

We added the barn about 4 years ago. (approx40x60) This building has a workshop, a room that has stubbed in plumbing and wired, and storage space for TONS of junk...I mean tractors.

This home has been a happy place for our family to live. Could be a happy place for you too!

The Key to Keeping Your Scrap Supplies Organized

In order to help get you ready for our annual Scrapbook Garage Sale, I'm going to share something that I recently learned while purging my own scrap supplies.

This is a simple concept yet I finally realized what my main problem was when it came to keeping my scrap stuff organized.

Your supplies need to fit into your defined space.

This was a major issue for me and probably also for many of you. Since I work at a scrapbook store, I have constant contact with all things scrapbooking which means I buy stuff regularly. I have a hall closet that I converted to my craft space. The doors have been removed and cabinets and a counter top have been installed. Since I don't have a scrapbook room and my closet space is pretty limited, I stored stuff where ever I could. I didn't realize how bad it actually was until I gathered everything I had so I could see it all together. I had my albums in my bedroom closet on a shelf that were impossible to get to, paper stored in vertical paper holders in my tv armourer, kits and "in progress" projects stored in a wire rack system in our playroom along with an open cabinet full of embellishments, stickers and mini books. A couple weeks ago I discovered that I had a tub of chipboard books under my bed in a storage container that I completely forgot existed for at least 1 1/2 years. I store very few items under my bed so the fact that this was under there and I forgot about it made me finally realize my stash had really over grown it's invisible boundaries. Admittedly I was embarrassed by the shear volume of it all and I realized it was time to get serious and let a good amount of it go.

After piling everything together on the playroom floor, I sorted through every item. Realistically, this takes time. I sorted everything in "shifts" because I knew it wasn't something I could get done in one night. Here's how I decided what to keep and what to let go of. I asked myself the following questions:

1. Do I still like it?
This is an easy one. If no, it went to the garage sale pile. If yes, next question.

2. Do I have an idea for it?
Do I realistically see myself using it within the next 6 months?
This is when honesty comes in to play. I also think putting a time frame on when it's going to be used helps. I especially used the time limit when it was an item that I had been holding on to for sometime.

3. Do I have the space for it?
If the item made it to this point (especially bigger, space consuming things such as kits), I had to survey how much room I had, then decide which item was the most important to keep.

4. Does this item fit into the vision for my space?
This last point I stole from professional organizer Peter Walsh. He has a great new show on Oprah's network that I adore.)

I know this sounds silly when we are talking about scrapbook supplies but this does apply to my situation. My craft closet is located in my living room and it's one of the first things anyone sees when walking in my home. Usually, the counter top in my space is not only completely covered, but it is also piled up. When it gets to this state, then I usually have to start putting stuff on the floor. For me, once items hit the floor, they stay there for awhile. This is all not a very welcoming site to see upon walking into my front door! So it really made me focus on keeping what would fit into my space. Plus I really wanted to get to the point where my stash was easily controllable so that it would stay organized. We all spend so much time organizing our supplies. Wouldn't it be great to use that time to scrap instead??? Of course!!!!

So once I finished the sort, this was my garage sale pile. It's probably the biggest amount of stuff that I've ever let go of.

Creek Bank Scrapbook Garage Sale

Good afternoon!

Just wanted to share the good news that we have set a date for our annual Scrapbooking Garage Sale! Mark your calendars now!!

Scrapbook Garage Sale and Crop

June 10-11

10 am - 5 pm

Go to our website to register or for more information.

We will also be having a 2 day crop during the Garage sale as well. The cost is $10. We are limiting this to only 20 scrappers due to the volume of stuff we'll have for the garage sale. Each person will get half a table and we won't be providing any food service.

Glue Glider Pro Refill

I heard alot of concern from the gals scrapbooking this weekend about frustrations with the Glue Glider Pro refills. They were having issues with the cartridge when they were getting close to the end of the roll, it appears to be jamming.

I just spoke with the folks at Glue Glider Pro, and they do not think they have a problem with the refills. They need to SEE the refills that are acting strange so they can indentify what the problem is.

If you have a refill that is too tight, and is hard to roll please call Glue Arts at 1-866-889-4583 and report what you have. They want to take care of the customers and have told me they will replace cartridges, if you have the original to send in, and if you identify yourself as buying from Creek Bank Creations,Inc.

It is always our goal to sell quality products that you can trust. If you have any other issues please let us know. We'll do our best to help resolve them.
